Construction
Artificial lagoon-type skimmer
chamber for accumulation/separation of light and medium viscosity oils,
with pump-controlled weir displacement. Runs with most variable speed
vacuum pumps (max 30 m3/hr). |
|

Operating principle
The river current drives surface oil/water into the
Circus chamber and maintains
a circular flow in the chamber where the incoming water is balanced by
an outgoing flow beneath it. The oil accumulates on the surface to form
a layer sufficiently thick for the weir skimmer in the Circus center to
skim and discharge oil with very little free water. |

Logistics
Rugged yet light - carried and
deployed by two persons, off a quay, shore, or over the side of a work
boat.
